Khloe Kardashian has revealed the “shocking” reason behind her divorce from Lamar Odom.

On September 27, 2009, one month to the day after they first met, Khloé and Kendrick Lamar tied the knot.

However, after the NBA player’s cheating scandal and drug relapse in August 2013, the marriage started to deteriorate, and Khloé filed for divorce in December of that same year.

In an emotional confession on her Khloé in Wonderland podcast on Wednesday, the 40-year-old opened up about the “pivotal moment” in her relationship

with the NBA alum.

“I remember, I was married and my ex-husband had a drug addiction. And I knew that his addiction always heightened — he was in the NBA — and his addiction always heightened when he was in the off-season, cause idle time is the devil’s playground,” she recalled.

“I remember he was asked to go to Team USA, if I remember correctly, and I was begging, ‘Please, please go to Team USA,’ and I was pushing, and I remember he just looked at me and said, ‘You can’t want it more than I do,’” she recalled.

“It’s so silly, ’cause I know that. But I wanted it so badly, because I wanted to help him and to get him to feel the motivation and feel good, but he just wasn’t in that place.”

“It took me a long time to get to, then I had to file for divorce,” she confessed.

“That was a very pivotal moment in my life because I remember that statement being like…’Yeah, you’re right. I can’t want your life more than you,’” she stated.

When Lamar was discovered comatose in a Nevada brothel that October, his years-long struggle with heroin addiction reached a breaking point, and he was sent to the hospital.

He spent months in the hospital, largely unconscious.

Khloé hurried to the hospital and stayed by Lamar’s side despite the fact that they were still divorcing at the time.

In the end, the Good American founder, who was in charge of all of Lamar’s medical decisions, decided to end their drawn-out divorce process.

However, the two officially separated in December 2016 after Lamar was released from the hospital and beginning his recuperation.

The confession comes after the pair sparked reconciliation rumours in the debut teaser for The Kardashians season 6.

Towards the end of the trailer, Khloé Kardashian, confessed: “Honestly, I think timing is everything.”

“You guys are never going to believe who I met with,” she confessed to her sister.

“Who?” Kim responds while a man’s foot emerges from a vehicle.

Kim remarked: “This is crazy,” as Khloé’s ex-husband Lamar Odom enters a house with a bunch of red roses.

Kim appears taken aback by the revelation, while Kris reacts differently, tearing up as she confessed: “That was the love of her life.”

Although it’s unclear whether Kris is referring to Khloé and Lamar specifically, Khloé can be heard stating, “I don’t know this person anymore.”

Later, a crying Kris declares that she is “devastated for [her] child.”

Following this, Lamar appeared on The Kyle And Jackie O Show, and addressed the rumours.

He said when asked if they were back together: “I wouldn’t say back together. It would be a blessing just to be her friend.”

“I think it’s healthy sometimes to move on, in a healthy way. Like I said, it’d be a blessing just to be her friend, just to be around her,” he said.

When asked if he was seeing someone, Lamar replied: “Um…. ‘I have someone. I do have someone that’s dear to me. I’m not gonna name names. She knows who she is.”
