Predicting Iowa football vs Missouri in Music City Bowl

The Music City Bowl will have an entire day to itself during this bowl season. Iowa vs. Missouri is the only college football action on Monday.

ESPN will televise the 1:30 p.m. CT contest, which is bound to have more interest than other similar bowls given the schedule exclusivity. Here are some projections on how the Music City Bowl might go.

Iowa football vs. Missouri predictions

From Hawk Central’s Chad Leistikow: Missouri 20, Iowa 17 … The Hawkeyes’ defense will come to play, but the offense will be searching without its stud back in Johnson. I could see this resembling Iowa’s 2021 season loss to Kentucky in the Citrus Bowl by the same score in a highly competitive game. Iowa may need a defensive or special-teams score to win, but Missouri is well-coached, motivated and good at avoiding the big mistakes that Iowa depends upon.
